If you’re a solo mom-to-be

If you’re a solo mom-to-be and also a first-time mom-to-be. This talk is for you to lift you up and set you on the right childbirth preparation path, your best birth experience and the Birth Story you tell afterwards.

Everything in our Societies are now silo’d. You fit into this group or that group. Thankfully pregnancy and childbirth absolutely includes every woman who is pregnant because 100% of pregnant women will give birth one way or another.

Sure, Women tend to look at the ‘type’ of birth they experience within silo’s as well: ‘I had a natural birth’ or ‘I had a Cesarean’ yet each one of us has to do the activity of birthing our baby by ourself no matter where the birth occurs, who is present, our individual circumstances, our individual beliefs; our choices, lack of choices or change of choices or what happens to or around us.

That’s right. Each woman is birthing alone!

And here is the most profound realities:

1) You never know what your birth will be like.

2) Each Woman has to do the activity of birthing her baby by herself no matter what. No one can do the birth for each of us. We can’t even take a break!

Put these two Truths together when you think about yourself as a solo mom. You, like every other birthing woman, are going to do the activity of giving birth by yourself! And, no Women knows what her birth will be like. Join the Reality of Childbirth!

These Truths are freeing IF you take a Skills-based approach to your coming birth. Without skills you are much less likely to cope, manage, work through, deal with, handle, stay on top of and feel in control. With skills (no matter how imperfect) you will cope better, manage, work through, deal with, handle, stay on top of and feel more in control because all Humans thrive on being skilled to do any activity. And, giving birth is an Ultimate Activity that requires some level of skill. No one has told you until now!

This is the Childbirth Conversation, Message and Trend we all need to be advocating now. You get to lead the way or join us … such a simple thought and sentence:

“When pregnant, it’s normal and natural to self-learn birthing skills (and if you have an ‘other’ then birth-coaching skills) then use those skills to work through the activity of birthing your baby”.

That’s it! All Women are birthing alone whether they have a partner helping, having their 20th baby or have a 100 people around them. We are all Solo Women doing the activity of birthing our babies and each birth is the first time for that birth.
