Our New Zealand registered not-for-profit, Charitable Trust is doing this You and Childbirth Series because the conversations in childbirth started to get crazy in the early 1980s. This has led to the huge rise of shame, blame, guilt, disappointment, anger, frustration and birth trauma. None of this was necessary and could have been prevented.
Today we’ll discuss the concept of normal and natural childbirth.
Have you had a normal and natural birth? What was that like? Would others recognize your birth as normal and natural?
What are the criteria for a normal and natural birth? Who doesn’t have a normal and natural birth?
Should women feel prouder of having a normal and natural (or physiological) birth than someone who doesn’t?
If we don’t speak about birth as normal and natural then how do we talk about it?
Is there anything we can do to achieve a normal and natural birth
