Well done me! At 73 I’ve been able to learn heaps of IT stuff which tickles my fancy. This info-graphic is all about how men take their Hero’s Journey from conception through The Birth. Our Trust loves to direct attention to men/partner/father-to-be/father. We see this as ‘giving back’ for all the efforts from hundreds of the original Birthing Better fathers who equally developed these amazing birth preparation and birth-coaching skills.

As father-to-be you may not express how desperate you are not to cock up in the eyes of your pregnant partner. Even men who are in strong, stable relationships are always concerned that you’re not going to understand or keep up with the changes in pregnancy. Women feel the same thing … ‘Will I be a good mother? or ‘How will a baby change our relationship?’ Pregnant women are taking a 12 Heroine’s Journey as well.

Often the beginning Steps in the Hero and Heroine’s Journey do not come together. Each person has to take their own journey and as they grow they then come together more and more. That’s why at 24 weeks Birthing Better skills begin to be learned and used to specifically prepare the pregnant body for birth. Then through the subsequent weeks together you learn birth and birth-coaching skills. Once again the journey toward The Birth is not always the same. Birth skills are used from the woman’s direct experience. Birth-coaching skills are the help that women need. But together you work through your baby’s journey.

Birthing Better skills were developed by moms and dads in the early 1970s in the US and used by many thousands globally in all types of birth. Birthing Better online birthing classes are housed in Common Knowledge Trust.
