VBAC STORY:
Fourth time lucky … was it luck?
One day our Trust, Common Knowledge, got an email from a woman in another country. She had recently purchased The Pink Kit and was pregnant, due to have her baby in a few months. She wanted to say thank you to CKT for producing such a wonderful set of resources.
As always one of our Trustees was delighted to continue a correspondence with her. Our resources were new on the market (2001) and we valued hearing from people who were using them. This woman had many questions about her birth histories. She very much had wanted to have her babies naturally yet she had had 3 cesareans.
This time she was committed to trying again and at home. How very brave and for some foolhardy. Like all correspondence there is an initial rush of emails that dry up as Life goes on. One day we received an email from her. She was absolutely overthemoon with excitement. She had achieved her much sought for goal … a home birth.
She knew exactly what she had learned about her own body from The Pink Kit resources. She had been able to map her pelvis and know it’s shape exactly. This helped her understand the passage through which her babies had to come. She discovered that she had a very tight sacrum due to her years of figure skating and having to hold her pelvis very rigidly.
In fact during labour when she thought that her baby was once again ‘stuck’ she remembered Kate’s Cat and worked to reduce the tension in her sacrum. She said her baby then flew out of her to which she then said how grateful she was that she had done the Internal Work. Not only had she had a vaginal birth after 3 cesareans, she hadn’t torn.
Needless to say, stories like this are the bases for success of The Pink Kit/BirthingBetter and also it’s birth. Women all have stories about their birth experiences and like you, you want your memories of this monumental experience to be enjoyable.
