This Birth Story is a 2nd birth. Although some women have an easier subsequent birth, that’s not always true. You never know what your birth will be like so becoming skilled and refreshing your skills is essential. Most women feel gaps after their birth experience (even if they’ve had a great birth) and they want to fill those gaps, learn more, do more, enrich their subsequent birth experiences.

The Pink Kit provides that because these skills come from ordinary families. They can be self-learned at a basic level yet have layers and layers. Some families totally get into learning and integrating these skills, others learn only what they want and spend little time.

With our first birth we planned a home birth with a wonderful midwife. We really did due diligence. I felt so prepared. Geez, I read every book, joined forums and made an incredibly detailed Birth Plan. But as soon as the contractions got intense nothing I had learned helped me cope. We transported to the hospital after 36 hours for “failure to progress”. I had an epidural and eventually managed to push my baby out. I was terrified this next birth might be the same.. This time I sought out skills. We purchased The Pink Kit, went to Bradley classes and got hypnobabies. We were going to leave no stone unturned. What a difference. My husband and I really could work together this time. I knew exactly how to respond to contractions. My labor was about four hours. I knew exactly what positions kept me open. Two or three contractions of pushing and our baby’s head was out, and then her body came sliding out into my husband’s hands – big and round! Our baby weighed nine pounds 11 ounces and came out so much easier than the first one, who weighed seven pounds. What joy!!! And what a gorgeous baby. What a great birth. Which skills resource worked the best? Without a doubt The Pink Kit was the foundation. We learned about my body and the skills to keep it open and how to prepare it. We credit the internal massage with the quick 2nd stage. The Pink Kit had more skills for my husband. We loved meeting couples in the Bradley class we won’t have met while self-learning The Pink Kit at home. Hypnobabies helped me stay focused but I had to shut out the belief my birth would be pain free. It wasn’t. In fact it was more painful because it was quicker. My husband liked The Pink Kit and Bradley best. I was glad we used them all’

Here’s a link. This link will be put on all the posts. Kristen has 6 kids, the last 3 are PK babies. She KNOWS about birth and is one of our affiliates. That means if you purchase The Pink Kit through her she gets a commission. Her husband Scott’s first baby was a Pink Kit experience. He’ll explain how The Pink Kit made certain he was able to become a skilled birth coach to a woman who had previously had three great births.!

Kristen’s written a time-line calendar for use of The Pink Kit. You just need to sign up to her mail list (we don’t keep a mail list) and she’ll send you the Time Line. She’s worked through both Edition #2 and #3 of The PInk Kit so she knows all it’s imperfections and la-dee-dahs past them to the skills she wants to improve for each birth. Can women and men have better births each time? Sure can! The more skilled, the more we master the experience.
