Here’s our short and sweet response when looking at birth from BirthingBetter skills and the hundreds of fathers and mothers who developed all these skills. It was simple:
Skills work, knowledge goes out the window. What women said about ‘basic knowledge of labor stages’ when they were in labor was simple: ‘All that stuff went out the window in labor’ … We learned very quickly … we are ‘doing’ the activity. We are either going to do it with skills or it’s going to happen to us. We made a choice. We became skilled as birthing women and birth coaching dads.
