Our BIG 10

These are the BIG 10 focuses that we have found to be the most important.

  1. Breath = focus: Directed Breath, be aware of sounds.
  2. Language: Communicate your needs verbally/non-verbally.
  3. Touch: Use to relax the woman.
  4. Stay open = focus: Use positions that suit your unique body.
  5. Relax inside: Pelvic Clock = focus.
  6. Keep the pelvis mobile: Use techniques – Kate’s Cat, Sacral Maneouvre etc.
  7. Don’t go into labour tired: Rest in the early stages = discipline.
  8. Stay in the NOW: Be in every contraction, then let it go.
  9. Team work: Work together to manage the labour.
  10. Stay determined: Pain in childbirth is usually part of the process, and needs to be managed. If your care provider doesn’t think the ‘pain’ is a problem, then just work through it. Labour is over with more quickly than your years of parenting. Of course you can get through it!
