Every pregnant woman is in partnership with her maternity provider whether the provider has a specific ‘Partnership Framework’.
We encourage all birthing women and her birth partner to become skilled for their coming birth whether they are encouraged by their maternity provider.
The more the ‘focus’ is on a ‘partnership’ then each person should have skills for their task, job, role.
Sadly, since the 1980s the focus in childbirth has been entirely on

However, 100% of pregnant women will give birth .. full stop … period. And each woman is doing the activity of birthing her baby no matter how it unfolds … full stop .. period.
This one-off, life transforming, dynamic, intense Activity is best done with some level of skill.
BTW … birth providers LOVE working with skilled families and LOVE to see families working together.
